On the occasion of the Commission on the Status of Women's annual meeting and during an Every Woman Every Child event at U.N. headquarters, Women Deliver presented the first-ever ‘Delivering for Girls and Women’ award to the U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. Women Deliver is a leading global advocacy organization for the health, rights, and wellbeing of girls and women.  The Women Deliver award was created to recognize true visionaries for game-changing efforts that move the needle forward for girls and women, and to initiatives, like Every Woman Every Child, that will lead to significant progress in the future. Last September, the UN Secretary-General launched the Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health to help further the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Agenda. This strategy builds on 15 years of progress under the Millennium Development Goals and the Every Woman Every Child (EWEC) movement. A key strategic priority for EWEC is the development of an updated accountability framework to ensure strong implementation of the SDGs. Read More...

Women Deliver’s Commitment to new Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health

2015 and beyond is a moment in time where we are intensely focused on the world and its people. It is a time in which we could see the end of extreme poverty, preventable maternal deaths, and begin to reverse the effects of climate change. While these goals may seem like an unbelievably large undertaking, they can be achieved; but no one person can do it alone. One of the best ways to see progressive change is to work through partnerships. Which is exactly what Women Deliver believes, and exemplifies.
